Based on the internationally best-selling series of books by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler) and starring Neil Patrick Harris, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans - Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. You can finally check out NPH in the latest trailer for the Netflix series below!

I felt the movie of the same name was okay, if only feeling like classic Tim Burton-lite, so I'm curious to see if 8 episodes of this story will make me change my tune. It's going to be hard for NPH to contend with Jim Carrey, but he looks up to the task. If anything, Netflix has proved to be the perfect outlet for stories that suit the home-watching experience.

All 8 episodes of A Series of Unfortunate Events will hit Netflix on January 13, 2017.

Looking forward to this

I like NPH, but his appearance kind of looks like a 2nd rate Cosplay of the version. I'm sure I'll get used to the look though and I'm sure he'll nail the performance. It also looks like they specifically tried to make the kids look like Emily Browning and Liam Aiken from the movie.

Excited for this series but Carrey nailed the role and I wish he were back. Was (and still am) willing to give NPH a chance but he didn't look too inspired here. Plus Carrey looked more fitting visually speaking, too.

Really looking forward to this, loved the film, a shame it didn't spawn any sequels. Nothing against NPH but I don't see why Carrey couldn't reprise the role, it's not like he wouln't need it lately... Once again, nothing against a new count tho it's gonna be tough to fill Jim carrey's shoes, he was perfect imho.
