Strike Back below!

Even before I saw TERMINATOR SALVATION I wanted to believe in McG. I was a fan of the series and I wanted it to succeed. After it's unbelievable failure, I've lost all faith in the man with the silly name, and thus am not surprised to learn that his next project 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA: CAPTAIN NEMO is in need of a rewrite. BRAVEHEART scribe Randall Wallace has been hired to rework the film, and is trying to get as much done before he must direct his own film, the racehorse drama SECRETARIAT, which begins filming in September. McG has publicly stated that he would love to cast Will Smith as Nemo but this being the film's third rewrite to date, that somehow seems unlikely. Maybe Paul Walker's available?

McG needs to go back to doing comedy action movies where the story is secondary and he can focus in on dancing girls in their underwear.

Hell naw!
ugh...I really wish they would scrap this project. Why don't they make a 20,000 leagues movie based on the original novel? And Yes, Nemo is supposed to be Indian. Not a bad rapper from the 80s and 90s.

black nemo...
captain nemo declared himself of Indian descent in the second novel. his heritage was changed for the movie since at the time American audiences probably wouldn't have gone to see a movie with a brown skined protagonist. so will playing nemo isnt as far a stretch as James mason. my only worry is if will has the dramatic chops to not only play nemo but to play him under mcg's questionable...

McG had a chance to prove himself with T4 with which he failed miserably. The only way you can say T4 was good with a straight face is when comparing it to T3, but even that's a stretch for some people.

"Maybe Paul Walker's available?"

That made me chuckle.

McG will fall flat on his face again.

I thought TERMINATOR SALVATION was frickin' awesome.

That said, too bad this hasn't progressed any closer to production.

And finally, I'd love to see Will Smith as Nemo - but it would have to be a very serious movie, with much bloodshed. (Like...TERMINATOR SALVATION!)

"with much bloodshed. (Like...TERMINATOR SALVATION!)"

What bloodshed? I must not have seen it hiding behind that PG-13 rating.

In response to the extra tidbit... why does he keep getting chances? What promise has he ever shown? Charlies Angels? We Are Marshall? If this guy had a normal name nobody would care.

What happened to the "next article" arrow that used to be above the strike back? Any way we can get that back? ...I prefer to go down the line, article by article.

I'm starting to think that McG huffs paint.
