Netflix announces sequel series Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

For those of you who enjoyed the return of WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER in series form, Netflix has just announced a sequel series, aptly titled Ten Years Later. As you can imagine, this time around we’ll actually travel to the the time that was teased in the original film. You can relive that moment with the announcement trailer below.

Film creators David Wain and Michael Showalter, who also created the series, will return again to pen and direct Ten Years later. None of the cast has been announced, but seeing as how they brought everyone back for the prequel series, we can probably expect to see the likes of Paul Rudd, Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Christopher Meloni, Michael Ian Black, Elizabeth Banks, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Zak Orth, Judah Friedlander and Michael Showalter, among others.

It doesn’t even need to be said, but this is great news for fans of the film and the show (which arguably proved to be better than it’s movie counterpart). David Wain‘s comedy can feel a little stretched thin when it comes to his movies, but an episodic format proved fruitful, with First Day of Camp providing some of the biggest laughs of 2015. For those of you with Netflix who haven’t checked it out yet, get on it!

Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later will hit Netflix sometime in 2017.
