New and old heroes are teased in this first full trailer for Heroes Reborn

We've already seen several short teasers for Heroes Reborn, NBC's revival of the once beloved Heroes series, but today NBC has released a proper trailer which finally offers up our first look at some of these new (and old) characters in action. Heroes Reborn stands as just one of the many shows which are set to return to our screens with a revival of some sort, but it still feels too early to tell whether Heroes Reborn actually deserves a chance at redemption.

Check out the new trailer and decide for yourselves.

During the show's first season I was completely on board; I was never under any delusions that Heroes was the greatest show on earth, but I definitely felt like it offered a good amount of mystery, thrills, and great characters all wrapped up in an entertaining package. Watching the show so completely destroy itself in the years that followed was a little painful to watch, so when the news came that NBC would be bringing the show back I was more than a little surprised. I'd like to think that Tim Kring and company have learned from past mistakes and that Heroes Reborn can recapture some of the magic that made the show so much fun in the beginning, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

Here’s NBC’s new official description of Heroes Reborn:

A year ago, a terrorist attack in Odessa, Texas, left the city decimated. Blamed for the tragic event, those with extraordinary abilities are in hiding or on the run from those with nefarious motives. Two such vigilantes include Luke (Zachary Levi, “Chuck”) and Joanne (Judith Shekoni, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2”), who are seeking to avenge a tragic loss. Noah Bennet, aka H.R.G. (Jack Coleman, “Heroes”), has gone off the grid but conspiracy theorist Quentin Frady (Henry Zebrowski, “A to Z”) finds him and opens his eyes to the truth behind the Odessa tragedy.

While in hiding, some are discovering their newfound skills. Awkward teen Tommy (Robbie Kay, “Once Upon a Time”) just wants to be normal and win the girl of his dreams, Emily (Gatlin Green, “Criminal Minds”), but normalcy is virtually impossible after learning of a new ability that terrifies him. Coming from a very sheltered upbringing, a bold and ethereal teenager, Malina (Danika Yarosh, “Shameless”), has been told she is destined for greatness. In Tokyo, a quiet and unique young woman, Miko (Kiki Sukezane, “Death Yankee 3”), is trying to track down her missing father while hiding an extraordinary secret that will make her a force to be reckoned with. Elsewhere, a different type of hero is emerging through former soldier Carlos (Ryan Guzman, “The Boy Next Door”).

Heroes Reborn will kick off its thirteen-episodes on September 24, 2015 at 8/7c on NBC. Will you be watching?

If you give us Hiro, I'm in.....

I thought it looked kind of mediocre, but we got to see the badass Hiro at the end, and that made it all worth while. It would be nice if we got the cool Peter Patrelli as well, but they could lose EVERYONE else from the original series.

I'm excited to see where they take it. I'm glad to see Hiro is back, and Bennett too. It would be awesome if we saw some more original cast members too.

The show started it's horrible decline during season 2 and was virtually unwatchable by the end.
They are trying to cash in on the superhero fad by bringing it back. Will wait and see, but doesn't look like much!

If it can capture the essence and quality of season one then great. If not, then whatever. I just won't watch any more. Gave up after season three and after they killed Nathan for the umpteenth time.

I gave up on this after the second season. I feel this show got screwed bad because of the writer's strike back in 06-07. The first season was one of the best seasons of television I ever had the pleasure of watching. Though the ending was a bit flat, I still loved it. The series just fell apart badly after that. Maybe I will watch the old seasons again that I missed.

I heard this news yesterday and rewatched season 1. Holy crap was that a great show (albeit really uneven in spots). The episode '5 Years On' is probably my favorite episode of TV ever. But instead of giving us the badass Peter & Hiro, they tried to sink back into the slowly evolving crew and it just floundered. Many great ideas (including Hiro meeting his idol, then coming up with the best punishment ever for him), but they all could have been wrapped up in a single season and it would

Plus it suffered from a lack of a good, strong villain after Sylar's first season (and trying to bring him back was a disaster).

Well...

Seeing as that Heroes had a major part in starting the whole Superhero craze I'll give it a shot, but the show really lost me around season 2. I wonder if any of the other heroes will show up... also:

***Possible Cap: Civil War spoilers*****?

So that's basically the set up from the Civil War comics that starts the whole registry. Only that they're not all in hiding. It'll be interesting to see what happens in Cap 3.
