New animated character posters for The Divergent Series: Insurgent

If you're a fan of the Divergent series, then I know you’ll be happy to see that your favorite characters are taking their daily neck exercises very seriously. I know how much a tweak or spasm can hurt, so it’s good to see these guys setting an example for everyone. Lionsgate has released 5 new animated character portraits from THE DIVERGENT SERIES: INSURGENT, the second installment of its Divergent franchise. We have the regular 2D posters for you as well as the fancy embed 3D version.

Here is the synopsis for the movie:

Insurgent raises the stakes for Tris as she searches for allies and answers in the ruins of a futuristic Chicago. Tris (Woodley) and Four (James) are now fugitives on the run, hunted by Jeanine (Winslet), the leader of the power-hungry Erudite elite. Racing against time, they must find out what Tris’s family sacrificed their lives to protect, and why the Erudite leaders will do anything to stop them. Haunted by her past choices but desperate to protect the ones she loves, Tris, with Four at her side, faces one impossible challenge after another as they unlock the truth about the past and ultimately the future of their world.

I can't say I'm a fan of these animated posters when it comes to any movie. It looks cool sometimes and I’m sure it takes a lot of work, but put that work into a memorable 2D poster that we can look back on for years to come, that should be the goal.

The film will be digitally re-mastered into IMAX format and released in IMAX 3D theaters and regular theaters on March 20, 2015. Directed by Robert Schwentke, the film stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet, Octavia Spencer, Jonny Weston, and Naomi Watts.
