New Cirque poster

Aug. 25, 2009by: Mike Sampson

While I'm not sure I agree with the new TWILIGHT-themed marketing for CIRQUE DU FREAK: THE VAMPIRE'S ASSISTANT, I can at least understand it from a business standpoint. It's kinda hard to market a teen vampire movie without at least calling to mind TWILIGHT. Yet again, any move that banishes a bearded Salma Hayek to the back of your poster is bad news. It seems like this would be the perfect movie for some carnival-esque character posters. But instead we get a fully shaven Salma (get your minds out of the gutter boys) and a guy in the background who's so small I can't even make him out. Check out the new UK poster for the film below.

Extra Tidbit: That's a very HARRY POTTER font while we're at it...

Okay so this could be the worst poster ever. But that doesn't say anything about what the actual movie will be like. I tend to think it looks entertaining as hell.

this... looks.... TERRIBLE. Look at the main character's head, it looks like it's a stencil of his face... who the fuck gets these design jobs?!?!?!

Huge box office bomb coming

Ugh

That poster looks god awful and makes it seem way too childish. I still can't believe John C. Reily is in this. Since he has joined up with Will Ferrell and bunch, I haven't been able to take him seriously anymore. Whatever happened to the dramatic John we were used to in Magnolia, Chicago, Boogie Nights, The Good Girl, etc? Btw that kid looks like abnormal and his face looks kinda messed up.

Haven't read the books, but the trailer didn't look very good. I'm not gonna be seeing this.

Awful

It makes the film look like it has no personnality so it has to borrow from other films. Bad, bad marketing!

I agree with Joblo here...It would be a perfect movie to promote using individual Characters with their own tag lines (and not stupid corny ones like the one they have on this poster!) I liked the first poster of just the boy. It made you wonder a little...IF they kept that same concept, Idk it might look cooler. But you know Hollywood wont!

I thinks this poster sucks too. And the tag line almost sounds like somthing on the drawing board for teenwolf. Character posters would be an excellent way to go after seeing the trailer, but you know hollywood...

SAFER IS BETTER!!!
