New details on Michael Shannon’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice role

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Zack Snyder Michael Shannon

Michael Shannon may have made up the story about being trapped in a porta-potty on the set of BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, but he will definitely be in the upcoming comic book movie, and he shared some new info on his role during an appearance on Larry King Now.

Shannon compared General Zod's appearance in BATMAN V SUPERMAN to Jor-El's in MAN OF STEEL, saying “It’s the same thing like in the first one with Jor-El. Russell Crowe’s character is kind of like a ghost…So I guess I’m a ghost, kind of.” Shannon didn't deny or confirm he'll share a scene with Henry Cavill's Superman, but did say he doesn't "cross paths" with Ben Affleck's Batman. The actor also again said he was only joking when he made the flipper comments.

I was being a little mischievous. It's an awkward situation because Warner Bros. is always like 'Don't talk about this, don't say anything.'…The pressure that I’m under in this situation sometimes leads me to say silly things like Zod has flippers. It was a false red herring, as it were.

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE will be in theaters on March 25, 2016.
