The second trailer for HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON is now online, though searching far and wide, I can’t seem to find it in HD anywhere. A good third of the new spot is dedicated to reminding you that Dreamworks has in fact made other movies you like, therefore you should also like this one. It may seem a bit desperate, but remember that Pixar also does the same thing from time to time whenever the premise of one of its new movies seems questionable.

As for the film itself? I’m willing to give it a chance as it’s outside of Dreamworks’ usual formula of “animals doing things animals wouldn’t normally do,” and the plot would seem to be pretty original (relatively speaking, as it is based off a kids’ book). Jay Baruchel’s uber-nasally voice seems to have been turned up to eleven for some reason, and it’s pretty distracting, but other than that, the film looks like it could be…fun. You never know.

Extra Tidbit: I hated, hated, hated, hated KUNG FU PANDA. One of the laziest animated movies I’ve ever seen.

Can you explain how the animation is "lazy"? I'm intrigued, since it's safe to say you most likely know next to nothing about the process itself.

I'm sitting just down the hall working on Shrek 4, and I have to tell you that some of the best animators in the industry are working on Dragons. Character animation doesn't get much better than what you're seeing in that trailer....

Extra Tidbit = I Completely Agree!!
"Kung Fu Panda" was terrible. This new trailer is considerable better than the other.

dragonflight, vikings, cool
Kung Fu Panda was the first good animation from DW...spectacular settings and action, and a real story. The other ones just go from gag to gag pretty much.

Baruchel's voice bothers me. The voiceover guy's voice bothers me. The lazy animation and poor character design bothers me. Yawn. I'll wait for Toy Story 3, thanks.

You're really easily bothered. It's only like 2 minutes long. I'm sure the toys will be much more interesting *cough, cough*
