New Freddy Krueger look

The teaser trailer for the nonessential remake of NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET gave us a tiny peek at what Jackie Earle Haley’s version of crispy dreamstalker Freddy Krueger would look like.

Now we’ve got a much better look at the revamped horror icon, thanks to STYD and Figures.com. Collectibles craftsmen NECA will be making figures based on the Platinum Dunes redo, and a closeup of Krueger’s burn-scarred visage has surfaced. While it’s not a photo of Haley’s face from the film, it’s probably pretty close to what we’ll get on screen next April.

So what’s the verdict? Scary? Silly? Realistic? Better than the original? Fire Marshal Bill? Two-Face leftovers? Arseface? Lost relative from THE HILLS HAVE EYES? Makeup discards from THE GRINCH WHO STOLE CHRISTMAS?
