Every guy had at least one friend who had the giant GI JOE aircraft carrier toy as a kid. It was pretty spectacular, and led to more than one action figure arms race amongst neighborhood boys.
While the upcoming sequel to 2009 film may not inspire those same feelings of wonderment, it should provide us with a few hours of entertainment.
Entertainment Weekly debuted an exclusive TV spot for GI JOE: RETALIATION which puts a focus on Dwayne Johnson, some explosions, a well-placed kick to the face, and answers the age-old question of Throwing Stars vs. Bullets!
The trailer, while similar to the one that aired during the Superbowl features a brief, new dialogue scene. Each trailer for the film has shifted the film’s focus over to Johnson’s “Roadblock” character, taking over from Channing Tatum’s “Duke” who starred in THE RISE OF COBRA. Bruce Willis has been sprinkled in accordingly at the end.
