The excellent marketing materials for David Fincher's THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO continue to pour in. There's not much more to say about them, as everyone involved seems to have really figured out how to turn Fincher's specific dark tone and feel into something marketable and appealing.

Below is the film's latest poster (courtesy of Mouth Taped Shut), a more elegant but just as striking black and white piece featuring our two leads dissolved into one another. Click it below for BIG.

Synopsis: One fateful day several years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared off the secluded island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger family. There was no corpse, no witnesses and no evidence. Nearly forty years later, investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) reluctantly accepts the unusual and seemingly unsolvable assignment of finding out what really happened to Harriet. Genius hacker, Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) is drawn into the case and the two form a fragile alliance as they dig into the sinister past of the Vangers and find out just how far they're prepared to go to protect themselves and each other.

This will be better than the Swedish version

I can't believe people still doubt Fincher's abilities to make some of the greatest films. His best works have been movies that dealt heavily on mystery and murder(Se7en, Zodiac). I can only see good things coming from this.

Simple design

yet very effective.

Craig looks unbeliavably bad-ass like he was hand drawn or something.

I've liked the advertising so far. The original movie was so brilliant I have a hard time believing that Fincher can top it. The sequels, however, I'm quite certain he can do better. So, I guess I'm hoping this is a success so I can see the sequels. I think that's the first movie I've ever thought that about.
