New image of Henry Cavill in Tarsem Singh's Immortals has been revealed

05.06.2011

Before we see him don the famous red and blue superduds in Zack Snyder's MAN OF STEEL, Brit thesp Henry Cavill will fight with good ol' fashioned bronzed armor in director/hyper-visualist Tarsem Singh's period epic, IMMORTALS.

Below we're treated to another glimpse of Cavill's badass stonemason 'Theseus', backed by a cavalcade of angry and well-armored Greeks. Click it for BIG.

IMMORTALS - starring Cavill, Mickey Rourke, Isabel Lucas, Freida Pinto, John Hurt, Kellan Lutz, Luke Evans, and Stephen Dorff - will be showcasing its trailer in front of prints of THOR this weekend. The film is set to open on November 11th.

Synopsis: Visionary director Tarsem Singh (The Cell, The Fall) and producers Gianni Nunnari (300), Mark Canton (300) and Ryan Kavanaugh (The Fighter) unleash an epic tale of treachery, vengeance and destiny in Immortals, a stylish and spectacular 3-D adventure. As a power-mad king razes ancient Greece in search of a legendary weapon, a heroic young villager rises up against him in a thrilling quest as timeless as it is powerful. The brutal and bloodthirsty King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) and his murderous Heraklion army are rampaging across Greece in search of the long lost Bow of Epirus. With the invincible Bow, the king will be able to overthrow the Gods of Olympus and become the undisputed master of his world. With ruthless efficiency, Hyperion and his legions destroy everything in their wake, and it seems nothing will stop the evil king’s mission. As village after village is obliterated, a stonemason named Theseus (Henry Cavill) vows to avenge the death of his mother in one of Hyperion’s raids. When Theseus meets the Sybelline Oracle, Phaedra (Freida Pinto), her disturbing visions of the young man’s future convince her that he is the key to stopping the destruction. With her help, Theseus assembles a small band of followers and embraces his destiny in a final desperate battle for the future of humanity.

THE FALL

The Fall is AMAZING! Gotta watch it on BLU RAY!! Great story, great performances, Visually stunning! I think it is this Generations Wizard of OZ! Love it! I don't want him to be so mainstream though. I feel like he is a well kept secret.

Hopefully a career booster for Dorff

Extra Tidbit: Tarsem has only done two films so far, but I'd go with The Fall. Visually stunning fairytale with a beautiful story. It also helps that it isn't effeminate.

Somebody sure looks angry.

I couldn't be more hip to this news. I really liked both of Tarsem's films (probably both in my horribly disjointed and illogical overall top 10 list). I guess I just like visual stuff.

The trailer looked tame on the visuals, but maybe that was just because the CGI isn't done or because they want to appeal to broader group.

I'm kind of excited I liked both the Cell and the Fall. The little girl that played Alexandria in the Fall was awesome.

Tidbit: Not much of a question considering hes only got the two. Id have to go with Cell because its darker.
On the subject of this movie, I just saw the trailer and I must say Im kind of disappointed. Looked like kind of a parody of 300 and Clash but with no humor. I hope it'll be one those trailers dont do it justice movies
