Indiana Jones IV Now that THE FOURTH INSTALLMENT OF THE INDIANA JONES ADVENTURES is finally underway, talk can, of course, now turn to sequels (and a few years from now, remake, baby!) According to the IESB, Harrison Ford has signed a three picture deal while cinematic Indy spawn, Shia LaBeouf, has signed a four picture deal, which implies that The Beef may be taking over for his aging cinematic pop after this current apparent trilogy is complete. Considering it took just about eighty years to get a fourth installment going, do they really think they can crank out two more of these before Harrison Ford starts wearing diapers and forgets how to chew his own food? It's not surprising that they'd want to pass the fedora and whip to The Beef to continue the franchise as Steven Spielberg has officially adopted him as the movie star son he never had but two more featuring Ford? Seems iffy. What do you guys think?

Extra Tidbit: This is the first INDIANA JONES film without Pat Roach, who played small roles in the first three films. Roach died in 2004.

Not optimistic
This sounds very, very bad to me. Harrison Ford's signing up for more doesn't necessarily mean he'd be the star of the movie; he could just be playing "the dad" in, "Son of Indiana Jones" starring a new primary, Shia LaBeouf.

Now, I don't dislike LaBeouf, but I don't want to see "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" again. There is and always will be ONE Indiana Jones, and that...

Okay, IF Spielberg were to continue running the show, it MIGHT be alright; but, I would not expect him to stick around as director for future installments. I, personally, would expect that whoever got hold of later stories would fail to capture the spirit of Spielberg's first three (which the fourth will HOPEFULLY manage) and would instead wind up damaging the... legacy, if you will.

I may change my mind once I see the new one, but right now I'm feeling pessimistic -- possibly because about 90% of the movie news I'm reading lately is bad.

I'm for sequels
Only if Spielberg is directing them.

Plus it'll be a nice chance for everybody to watch on the big screen a hero age in looks but also act acording to he's age and reach the point where he can't be a hero anymore.

I would've loved to have seen something like that with Rocky or Rambo, but despite their age in the latest sequels they are still invincible.

Same with the Die Hards and Lethal Weapons

Harrison Ford will never be too old.

Sequels would be AWESOME.

And I hope to the gods themselves that Shia LaBeouf would only be doing a SPIN-OFF, and not taking Mr. Ford's place.

LUCASFILM HAS DENIED RUMORS OF MORE SEQUELS
Its not that Fords is getting to old, Spielberg wants to spend a good 10-20 more years on original work.

Wow, what is up with all the Harrison Ford bashing? Sorry he's human, and ages. He is richer than all of you and can kick all your asses with the blink of an eye. If he wants to make three more Indy films, let the man do it.

"It belongs in a museum!"
I'm as excited about the new film as anyone, but this sounds like BS to me - is it just me or does anyone feel like we've reached a saturation point on this thing? I mean, why don't we just let Paramount give us info when it's concrete... Is Ravenwood in it? Have they recast Henry Jones? Is "Beef" the kid? This is almost as bad as the "1-18-08" hype machine. Anyway... 3 more sequels wih Ford?...

I don't see that ending well, but if Bruce Willis can still make bad ass Die Hard movies, I won't count Ford out. I'm looking forward to this Indiana Jones movie, but having two more after.....I don't know if they have enough time to pull that off.

As much as I would like to see this...
I seriously doubt it will happen. Hell, it took them forever to get to this point. By the time the third film comes around, Harrison will be in his 70s.

Although, if Shia's character is good, he should get a nod to spin-off.

Three More Huh?
I'm for it and against it. I want to see the new flick before they try and hit me with three more. "The Beef"? I'll watch anything he's in at this point....been a loyal fan of his since his Even Stevens days! I'll have an answer after number four drops.

I’m all for three more Indiana Jones flicks!
That is if this new one lives up to the previous three. Also, I never want to see an Indiana Jones without Ford.

george lucas is a slow learner
You'd think after one "new" trilogy updating a classic one that most people hated, you'd learn a thing or to. But then again, money speaks louder than words.

I'm with Tai Mai Jew and Cronos on this one, it ENTIRELY depends on the quality of the fourth picture, if it's a big bucket of shit, then no.

But then again, it could be the cinematic equivalent of AIDs, and it's still making 400 million worldwide MINIMUM, so sequels are very likely whether anyone likes it or not.

Meh, I'm pretty sure LucasFilm has released a statement denying this...but I'm not 100%. Even still, I really don't think they're interested in reknewing the series with another character.

Omar, I'm not worried about Ford getting old and soft in the head half as much as I am Senor Spielbergo.

What a great idea--What a wonderful smell you've discovered.

I hope they find Atlantis this time.
First of: You can't make it as good as the original. The first films were done in the 80's. Totally different generation.

I really hope that the time they took for the script was for the whole trilogy.

Anyway, the more Indy the better.

It really all depends on how this next film turns out... if Indy 4 is as good as the originals, then by all means... if not, then I could care less.
