New international trailer and television spot for Gareth Edwards' Godzilla

04.24.2014

A new international trailer and television spot for GODZILLA have surfaced online, and both feature some impressive new footage from Warner Bros. and Legendary's upcoming film. The TV spot is pretty much just a shorter version of the new international trailer, but you should check them both out.

"Oh no, they say he's got to go, go go Godzilla!"

How epic is that last shot of the kaiju in the new spot and trailer? GODZILLA is going to be a huge movie, that's a given, but I do wonder just how well it'll do at the box office. After PACIFIC RIM's disappointing run in theaters last summer (although it did do better worldwide), I'm curious to see if audiences are in the mood for more giant monster action. But it looks like Gareth Edwards' has done a phenomenal job with GODZILLA, and with many people extremely excited to see his take on the creature, I can't imagine the film not performing well in theaters.

GODZILLA starring Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and Ken Watanabe will be released on May 16th, 2014.

Of course audiences in the mood for giant monster action as long as it looks GOOD!
Pacific Rim(job) looked fucking stupid.

Have you noticed that in the one trailer he steps down right in front of Johnson and he has bird-ish feet, then in the clip from Wondercon he has weird, barely existent feet (toes sticking out from a tiny foot barely larger than his calf). Hmmmm, wonder if one (or both) are examples of incomplete CGI?

AHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'm soooo fuckin pumped for this movie that last shot was so damn intense I can't wait to see it fully. I love how they show us godzilla but they don't show him like that much like there is sooo much more for us to see. I just hope the runtime isn't short. It'll be so lame if its 90mins. This looks like they have a lot of characters and stuff to build up to it and we really never got that in godzilla movies expect for the first.

Looks immense in most meanings of the word. Hopefully it'll get a decent box-office.

I'm wondering that myself?

The movie looks amazing, but the sheer volume of trailers is troubling. I've seen virtually nothing from Spider Man, and they're claiming it's projecting better overseas than Captain America. I've seen less from X-Men. But every time I turn on the TV it seems like I see a Godzilla spot and I'm wondering if they're concerned with tracking numbers.

It would be really sad if we FINALLY get the Godzilla movie most of us have waited to see forever, only to have it disappoint for the studio.

Yeah, I feel the same way
Boxofficemojo preditcs a WW box office around 670 millions which is for me a little optimistic... remember PACIFIC RIM ( a little disappointment for the studio)
Unfortumately, these days, the huge hits are : sequels, prequels, best selling novel adaptations, comics adaptations, almost all the original stuff doest not fly high...

Um, how is Godzilla an original movie? Doesn't it qualify as a sequel or prequel, based on existing material?

Godzilla isn't exactly a hot property, so I'm sure there's a huge concern for the studio regardless of whether or not it's good. I don't get why they invested so much money into it only to release it between two major comic book franchises which are sure to make bank.

"I've seen virtually nothing from Spider Man"

What?

No other movie this summer has been marketed as hard as Spider-Man. You can literally assemble the entire movie from all the trailers, clips and tv spots released.

Sure, there have been a ton of internet releases, but every time I've watched TV in the last week, the only trailer I've seen (other than a few for Transendence) have been for Godzilla. I literally haven't seen a single Spider Man commercial (and have seen dozens of Godzilla ones). Now I don't spend a lot of time watching TV so it's likely I've missed a bunch of them, but when I'm seeing 10 or 20 G trailers for every ASM one, that's not a fluke, that's a trend.....and one that doesn't make

Noah was exactly the same way, and that was because their tracking numbers warned them it wasn't going to do well domestically. They blanketed the airwaves with commercials and tried to start viral marketing based on the controversy around the film, and it still didn't make $100 million domestic (yet). I'm not predicting a negative for the film, but I am concerned about what the studio execs may be seeing. If the predictions of $600 million come true, I'll be thrilled (and we'll get more sequels of this quality). If it stays down around $400 million (mostly overseas) like Pac Rim, it may be the last serious Godzilla movie we see for a long time.
