New international trailer for Kenneth Branagh's Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit with Chris Pine

At the beginning of the month we finally got a trailer for Kenneth Branagh's JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT, and I have to say it looks better than I expected. Maybe a little too action heavy compared to the character in the novels, but Chris Pine should do a solid job and I'm hopeful that with Branagh behind the camera we'll get an "adult" action-thriller and not just a BOURNE knock-off.

The first international trailer for JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT has been released with some previously unseen footage, although most of it was already revealed in the first domestic trailer.

Take a look:

Is there anyone Chris Pine can trust in JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT? I get the feeling all of them are hiding something, and I'm optimistic that we'll get a movie with plenty of smart twists and turns, and not just shaky cam fight scenes.

JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT also stars Kevin Costner, Keira Knightley and Colm Feore, and will be released on December 25th, 2013.

Extra Tidbit: Is it me or does Keira Knightley look a lot like Rachel Weisz in a couple of the shots in the trailer?

I think we're in for a twist.

The only reason while this movie looks remotely interesting is because this reminds me of Jack Ryan Jr. From the novels. Jack Ryan's son is a actually a very special field agent who is trained very well in CQC, weapons, and trade-craft. Wouldn't be surprised if there is a cameo by Alec or Harrison playing his father. There are 4 books that feature Jr. prominately and this looks like The Teeth of the Tiger. I hope Paramount isn't that lazy to just reboot Jack Ryan for no reason and make him

I hope Paramount isn't that lazy to just reboot Jack Ryan for no reason and make him young and very uncharacteristic of Jack Ryan Sr. I hope they are trying to pull the shade over our eyes only for a good twist. But yea, all in all this looks like Jack Ryan Jr. More than Jack Ryan Sr.

I think the whole point of Jack Ryan is that he's a bit of a fish out of water, and that's something Alec Baldwin played very well. That all of the sudden, this analyst falls into the field. This take seems to be more adept at field work. That said, I am still looking forward to it. I like Chris Pine, I think Kenneth Branagh seems like he'll be just over the top enough as a villain and I want to see what he brings to the table directing wise.

This looks pretty good. I wasn't interested, until I just saw the trailer for the first time. It's got some good actors too, so I'll be checking this out when it's released.

He's not just an analyst anymore... he's operational now!

I'll see it but it's not the true Jack Ryan. Ryan was purely an analyst and the idea of conflict was difficult for him.

Looks like a Mission impossible, Bourne, Bond pastiche
