New Let Me In pic highlights familiar scene

May. 10, 2010by: Mike Sampson

In the comments section of the article showing off the very first pic from LET ME IN, our readers were mixed as to whether they liked what they were seeing. Half wanted to give the films a chance and liked Chloe Moretz while others just wanted it to go away. After speaking with director Matt Reeves at SXSW I fall firmly into the former category but for those who need more convincing, we've got another new pic from the film online.

This one you'll remember vividly from the original film. I won't spoil anything for anyone who hasn't seen the film but just looking at the two pics, I think you can figure out what happens here. Looking at these two shots from almost the same scene, do you like what you're seeing? I think the biggest issue for me will be Chloe Moretz who seems to be playing a slightly more vulnerable vibe than Lina Leandersson's Eli. Take a look at the pics below and let me know what you think.

Book

There is plenty of material in the book that the original film left out, so there are still new avenues to explore. As long as they keep to the heart of the story, it will be a good opportunity to open up Lindqvist's work to a whole new audience.

I could go either way on this remake. Some remakes are awesome and better than the originals (The Departed) and some are ridiculously pointless. I loved LET THE RIGHT ONE IN and always will, and it's not like it's going to disappear once LET ME IN comes out. So I will stay positive.

P.S. that extra tidbit picture is crazy!

I'll give this puppy a chance. I'll watch the original first though before moving to this one though.

I'm not one to compare because I haven't seen the original but so far from what I've seen it looks like ,it seems as though its following the original pretty close. Hopefully it doesnt disappoint.

Yeah, not really a big fan of the original, but that's an important piece of the meet cute - what makes her (or him) seem ethereal and creepy.

If you read the book, it talks about that. The book is a lot longer than just what's presented in the movie and way more disturbing.

I'm a huge fan of the original, watched it twice in a row when I finally got it on DVD. It's a beautiful movie and I'm definitely skeptical of any remake of course. But for some reason, this remake is starting to sound like it might not be bad. I'm also one of the rare Cloverfield fans so maybe I'm biased to the whole remake to begin with. I'm just not a fan of the kid from The Road, he bugged the shit out of me in that movie. Altogether though, I have a feeling this might not be bad.

I'n one of those who loved the original. If you havent seen it yet, well...you should. Do yourself a favor watch the original FIRST and then maybe give this remake a chance. I don't don't want to sound like a hater but if you are an average moviegoer then you know how remakes work, most of them seem to tone down from the original.
