New Max Steel poster released to keep reminding people that it exists

09.28.2016

MAX STEEL is a thing that is happening, whether we like it or not. Based on an action figure line from Mattel in the early '00s that no one remembers, the movie is blasting its way onto the big-screen. Obviously a potential franchise starter, the film follows the eponymous Max Steel as he finds some sort of alien-suit-GUYVER bullshit and fights aliens or something. He also has an annoying robot sidekick, because we all know how much kids love having sidekicks that annoy them.

Look, there might be fans of MAX STEEL that I'm offending, and if so, I apologize. But if you're a fan, are you really happy with what you're seeing of the movie adaptation? Well, if so, here' s a new poster for the film, just for you:

MAX STEEL will be released in theaters October 14th, 2016 and out probably by October 21st.

If I was a fan of MAX STEEL, I wouldn't be happy with what we're seeing of this movie... which is nothing! Considering the release date, the marketing has been horrible!

Yeah it looks more like a TV movie, but who knows it might find better success in Japan where the audience is more familiar with the concept of transforming superheroes.

It doesn't feel like a big theatrical movie. Anybody remember that live-action movie of Ben 10 on Cartoon Network several years ago? This Max Steel movie has that vibe to it - a TV movie.

It's got a Disney XD vibe....

It probably deserves a thumbs down, but I honestly don't care enough. It looks like a Disney original TV movie (or an extended episode of one of their lame series). If this turns out to be watchable, it might be the biggest surprise in movies over the last few years. I'm thinking someone's going to get fired over it unless there's an underground market that no one is aware of.
