With less than a month before it premieres, Fox has released a new "movie trailer" for 24: Live Another Day, a new 12-episode mini-series of the popular "real time" show starring Kiefer Sutherland. The new trailer is cut in the style of an actual action movie rather than a 12-episode series and really helps sell a return to the bad-ass antics of superagent Jack Bauer. For those of us who loved the crazy, shocking, and kick ass show and held out hope to see a proper send off/return of the character, our wishes have been granted with this new mini-series.

Check it out:

Here's the show synopsis:

The high-octane saga reunites the Emmy Award-winning team of executive producer Howard Gordon; star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland; co-creator Robert Cochran; executive producers, Evan Katz, Manny Coto, David Fury, Brian Grazer and director Jon Cassar. It also will retain the real-time, pulse-pounding, fast-paced format with split screens and interweaving storylines. Set and shot in London, the suspenseful event series once again will follow the exploits of heroic agent Jack Bauer.

Four years ago, Jack was a fugitive from justice. Now an exile, he nevertheless is willing to risk his life and freedom to avert yet another global disaster. Tracking Jack are CIA head Steve Harris; CIA agent Kate Morgan, who is both resourceful and ruthless; Jordan Reed, a smart and sophisticated CIA computer tech; and Erik Ritter, a sharp, strong and arrogant field operative. Calling the shots is James Heller, now President of the United States. Heller is flanked by his Chief of Staff Mark Boudreau, who is married to Heller’s daughter — Jack’s former flame, Audrey. Meanwhile, a hardened Chloe O’Brian, Bauer’s CTU confidante, is now working underground with high-profile hacker Adrian Cross.

Let's be honest, the main thing that needs to happen here is Jack Bauer just needs to be as awesome, angry, and tortured as he's always been in order to draw the majority of 24 fans back to the show. Hopefully, the story will be intriguing and full of the same shocks and surprises as prior seasons, but in the end I just want to see Kiefer Sutherland yell at people while waving a gun in their face. Lookin' good on that front so far.

24: Live Another Day, starring Kiefer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub, William Devane, Kim Raver, Benjamin Bratt, Yvonne Strahovski, Michelle Fairley, and Michael Wincott debuts on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 8:00 PM ET/PT.

This looks amazing. Cutting the episode order in half is really going to make this season's story alot better and create less filler.
