New photo released for Wonder Woman film

Say what you will about BATMAN V SUPERMAN (and go ahead, it has like a 23% on Rotten Tomatoes, you can't really say anything that hasn't been said already), but Wonder Woman was definitely the highlight. She was strong, badass, and her costume looked great on screen. The question now is, not so much can Wonder Woman headline her own feature film (as anyone who's read Brian Azzarello's take on the character can attest to, she most certainly can), but can DC/WB pull it off? I mean, BATMAN V SUPERMAN seemed like a sure thing at the time as well...

Anyway, to whet our appetites, WB has sent a new photo from WONDER WOMAN featuring Gal Gadot as the Amazonian princess and Chris Pine as her mansel-in-distress Steve Trevor. It also features other cast members, all who were seen in that photo on Lex's hard drive in BvS. Let's have a look:

Not much to analyze here, other than the fact it seems Wonder Woman will have her own WWI version of the Howling Commandos that Captain America palled around with in FIRST AVENGER (which seems like a mistake to add more allusions to that other superhero period piece). As someone who isn't super well-versed in comic lore, I don't know if these are popular characters in the canon, or made up for the movie. Either way, it seems that Wonder Woman won't be superhero-ing alone.

So what do you guys think? Excited for the new WONDER WOMAN movie? Sound off below!

WONDER WOMAN will fly her invisible jet to theaters June 2nd, 2017.

Extra Tidbit: Wonder Woman's weakness in the comics used to be being tied up by a man (though that's no longer the case). Let's hope the film doesn't bring that back.

I still don't think Gal Gadot can carry a movie.

I was excited to see Man of Steel. I was excited to see Suicide Squad. I have been wrong both times.

But screw that! I'm excited to see this film anyway. Even Fox makes good superhero movies sometimes so WB is due to get lucky!

I really hope this movie is as good as the trailers and overall aesthetic (these pictures, posters) make it look. But I've been burned by DC before (I'm looking at you, Suicide Squad).

Wonder Woman was badass in Dawn of Justice and the trailers for her solo film have looked terrific and in the same spirit as the previous DC films.

You really can't blame DC for getting ahead of Marvel in releasing a solo female comic book film when Marvel has had the opportunity for years to do the same with Black Widow.

Ok, I have to cry foul here.

Yes, it's good that WB is releasing a solo female comic book film.

Yes, a Black Widow movie is long overdue.

But no, a Black Widow film is not in any way more overdue than a Wonder Woman film. WB has had the rights to every DC characters since the 60s' and they should've made a WW film a loooong time ago. There's already been 3 (horrible) female superhero films released, 2 of which (Supergirl and Catwoman) were released by WB so there is no excuse for them
