The first feature film from actor-turned-director Nate Parker follows Nat Turner, a former slave in America who leads a liberation movement in 1831 to free African-Americans in Virginia that results in a violent retaliation from whites. 20th Century Fox has released a new poster that literally paints a patriotic picture of these freedom fighters. Take a look!

Judging from our Sundance review of this film (check it out HERE), there was a lot of passion put into the making of this project. It was a controversial move to title this piece, THE BIRTH OF A NATION, but only we give power and meaning to words, and it looks as though Parker and Co. are aiming make these words much more inspiring.

THE BIRTH OF A NATION will open in theaters on October 7, 2016.
