New poster for Edge of Tomorrow starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt

A new poster has dropped in for the Tom Cruise sci-fi actioner EDGE OF TOMORROW co-starring Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton, and Jeremy Piven which sees the two futuristic soldiers wielding their armored mech suits and ready to do battle. Directed by Doug Liman (MR. AND MRS. SMITH, THE BOURNE IDENTITY) and written by Christopher McQuarrie (based on the novel "All You Need Is Kill" by Hiroshi Sakurazaka) this looks like a hell of a lot of fun and terrific addition to the line-up of summer movies. Cruise is one of the most dependable stars working today when it comes to delivering a fun flick and this looks to continue the trend. Plus, Emily Blunt looks awesome in this. I mean, shit, look at her with that sword...

Here's the synopsis:

A soldier fighting in a war with aliens finds himself caught in a time loop of his last day in the battle, though he becomes better skilled along the way.

While I'd like to see Cruise tackle some more dramatic fare again, I'm enjoying his latest jaunt into the action hero market. He's got the right intensity and certainly the physicality to handle the mantle and he wears it well. With EDGE OF TOMORROW set for this summer and another MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE on the way, as well as a second JACK REACHER film, it looks like Cruise is going to continue to literally kick ass for a while and I'm just fine with that for now.

EDGE OF TOMORROW blasts into theaters on June 6, 2014 (D-Day!)

For some reason, I'm all ready to believe Emily Blunt as a tough cookie. Was surprised by how good she was as a redneck single mom in Looper.

All You Need Is Kill Live Action Movie

If the story same with the novel and Manga, this film it will be great....
(no problem if they change battle axe with sword, but hope the story stay same)

Been waiting a long time forever it seems

So excited for this and I love that poster but it doesn't look like Emily. Her eyes are her prettiest feature (among all beautiful features she has), and they changed them here. Eh, small beans it looks great anyway. Two of my favorites in one film and I can't wait! Paxton and Priven are nice too. :)

Not Really A Sword

It looks like a blade from a helicopter tail rotor to me. If it is in fact a sword, that's the crappiest hilt that I've ever seen.
BTW, Mr. & Mrs. Smith was a well done comedy, one of the few that I bothered to buy for my video collection. I'm not concerned about Liman being able to direct an action flick.

Great poster, though I don't know how smart it is reminding people that Doug Liman directed Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

Hey Blunt! Is that a massive badass sword in your hand, or are you just happy to see me?

They should have "I got you babe" playing over the end credits for this movie as a nod to the many jerks who are going to immediately scream "GROUNDHOG DAY!"

That's one kick ass poster. I mean, just look how huge that sword is! But yeah, I've been looking forward to this one ever since Cruise jumped on board. The trailers have done a great job of really selling the film.
