New promotional art for Jurassic World 2 suggests the return of Indominus

Raptor whisperer Chris Pratt has already teased us with the notion that JURASSIC WORLD 2 will be "scarier and darker" than its predecessor, and now, thanks to License! Global magazine, we've got a new teaser poster image that hints at yet another foreboding feature - the possible return of Indominus Rex.

Check out the image below and let us know what you think:

While it's not 100% clear that the creature shown in the promotional art is indeed the deadly prehistoric hybrid, I feel as if I'd know that reptilian eye anywhere, especially when it's getting all up close and personal. For those of us who've seen 2015's JURASSIC WORLD, we know that by the finale of the film, the Indominus became the main course for one very hangry mosasaurus, but has that ever stopped this franchise from pulling a few rabbits out of its proverbial hat? Perhaps the Indominus escaped? Maybe it used its tiny arms to dino-paddle its way to safety? Or, could there have been more than one? After all, those persky JURASSIC WORLD scientists are always up to no good, and I wouldn't put it past them to have engineered more than one of these beasts.

Or, you know, if could be a completely different breed featured on the poster all together. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

Directed by J.A. Bayona from a script by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, JURASSIC WORLD 2 will feature the return of stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, who will no doubt be running from dinosaurs alongside franchise newcomers Ted Levine, Justice Smith and Geraldine Chaplin. JURASSIC WORLD 2 is poised to stomp into theaters on June 22, 2018.

Extra Tidbit: According to the filmmakers, the T-Rex in the film is the same T-Rex that appeared in the original Jurassic Park. She bears visible scars from the climactic fight with the Velociraptors in the first film.

For the record

This has to do with the update to the Jurassic island at islands of adventure. Not the sequel. -.-

I'm confused...

I sort of hope I'm wrong because this whole article would be pointless if not, but in the picture provided on the bottom right it says Universal Orlando Development. Also it clearly says Jurassic World not Jurassic World 2. So are you just pointing out that Universal Studios is releasing an I. Rex/ Jurassic World tie in to their already established Jurassic Park section?

Also to the readers... have faith in this one. Bayona is directing, and the guys makes some incredible pictures.

Because bringing back the Indominus rex will make this sequel good? I still can't believe the love Jurassic World gets. I was enjoying it about 1/3 in until the ridiculousness kicked in. Forgettable characters, plot silliness, Bryce Dallas somehow out running dinos in heels, and Chris Pratt feeling out of place the entire time.

I was really hoping they were done with goofy dinos. JW killed the franchise for me and I had no interest in the next one, until they cast Goldblum. They'll get my money this time, but they're on notice. I'm sure his casting was to get some is us back in the seats. If they Han Solo his ass, I'm done.
