New Punisher posters

06.29.2008
I didn't exactly love the trailer that emerged for PUNISHER: WAR ZONE, but I did enjoy director Lexi Alexander's commentary on it (she dropped the F-bomb), so I'm kinda looking forward to it anyway. I do also feel like supporting this movie is tantamount to cheating on Thomas Jane, but I checked, and turns out I'll get over it. Today we have a couple of new posters, which are pretty cool. Peep them by clicking BELOW.

Extra Tidbit: Wayne Knight's character 'Microchip' was in an early draft of the first PUNISHER movie's script, but was written out due to director Jonathan Hensleigh's intense hatred of the character.

I loved the Tom Jane version, and am not too thrilled with this one, though I admit that it has potential. I may pay for it, or I may movie hop. We'll see.

Bradstreet

Stevenson looks like a Tim Bradstreet cover come to life.
I'll hold off judgment til I read reviews, but the trailer wasn't very promising.

It kinda seems to me like they got a kid from elementary school to do the punisher letters. they are very funny looking.i agree with what track100 said. this does look like it takes place in the schumacher gotham city. anyways, the teaser didnt do it for me and neither are the posters so im sticking to the thomas jane one. doubt ill see this one. maybe ill see it bootleg..

NOT TOO BAD....

I guess the Thomas Jane version was okay, but I always envisioned a movie Punisher to look like Ray Stevenson above. I have a feeling that this flick will do pretty well. Thomas Jane was good, but let's admit it, he doesn't look half as close as the comic books. He's like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Inaccurate and very different from the comics, but kickass nonetheless.

I honestly, honestly LOVED Thomas Jane as the Punisher. In my opinion, he was perfect and in the sequel he would have been even better. You know what I would have loved to seen? Make Ray Stevenson the villain and have him fight Thomas Jane's Punisher. That would have been great...alas...

Looks generic to me....

I sorta liked the first Punisher movie, but to take everything that WAS interesting out for the sequel (no T.J., for instance) just doesn't make it all that appealing to me. I think audiences will shun this movie. $10 mil. opening weekend, TOPS!

i'm a fan of the tom jane version. it reminded me of an 80s action movie. full of corny lines and fun action. it was also on a budget of 30 mil and considering john travolta was in it that left them with about 10 mil to actually make the film. so i think this time they aren't worried about having big names seeing as that doesn't help a film like this anyways. this should be just as fun. i'd like to get my hands on God? corny? check. haha. i'm stoked for it.

Am I the first to say this?

The new trailer looks like it takes place in Joel Schumacher's Gotham City.

He does look more the comic book punisher, but i don't know if that will necessarily translate into a better movie, b/c I enjoyed the first one.

ACTUALLY ...

... I like Ray Stevenson (mostly because of Rome),and since Punisher with Jane sucked I'm willing to give this one chance.

I really like the new poster even though it looks like the old movie poster, then again to make a Punisher poster all you need is the Punisher and guns. I hold high hopes for Ray Stevenson as the Punisher i think he looks alot more like the comic book Frank Castle than Jane did. dont get me wrong, i am one of the few people that actually liked the first one. But i think Stevenson has what it takes to make a good flick.

Regretfully, I have to agree with Omen666. I am a Punisher fan but I'm an even bigger Thomas Jane fan. Yes, his version was flawed but he did an excellent job in my opinion and to me Jane IS The Punisher. Imagine what it could have been had he been given an even greater and grittier script.
