New reshoots for Thor: The Dark World could mean a bigger role for Kat Dennings

Thor: The Dark World

At one point it was rumored that Kat Dennings' character Darcy would have an expanded role in THOR: THE DARK WORLD, but then it was revealed that a lot of the new film will take place on Asgard or one of the other worlds that isn't Earth. So is Dennings still going to have a bigger part even though she'll be stuck on this planet or will she be taking a trip to Asgard?

THOR: THE DARK WORLD already had some reshoots back in March with Chris Hemsworth (which is fairly normal for a movie of this size) but now Kat Dennings is heading for reshoots too, and in an interview with IGN they asked the actress if the new filming had anything to do with the rumors of her having a bigger part in THOR: THE DARK WORLD.

Yeah, yes. I mean I don't know how they edit anything, so who knows. I was careful in the first one to underplay everything in case they cut me out of it, but we're about to do some reshoots, so we'll see.

Dennings wouldn't say if her character does end up on Asgard or not, but Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif) has also been doing some reshoots lately (you can check out this tweet from Alexander here about trying to nap while wearing armor) so there is a possibility that the two actresses are a part of the same reshoot. Or they could be two separate reshoots that are unrelated.

The trailer from Comic-Con sounds brutal and dark, and it looks like THOR: THE DARK WORLD is going to have some epic battles. Although GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY intrigues the hell out of me, THOR: THE DARK WORLD is the Phase 2 Marvel film I am the most excited to see and I can't wait until it hits theaters on November 8th, 2013.
