New Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote 3D shorts to be featured before new WB family films

08.02.2010

Now this is some pretty cool news! Warner Bros animation recently announced that it would be bringing 3 all-new animated shorts to the big screen starring good ol' Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. The studio will attach the cartoon shorts to 3 of its upcoming family features, all 3 of which will be released this year and in 3D. The first short will be seen with CATS & DOGS: THE REVENGE OF KITTY GALORE on July 30th, the second with LEGEND OF THE GUARDIANS: THE OWLS OF GA'HOOLE on September 24th and the third with YOGI BEAR on December 17th. The cartoon shorts will run about 3 minutes each and will feature the extremely persistent Wile E. doing his best to capture the elusive Road Runner once again, only this time, he'll be employing an arsenal of state-of-the-art ACME gadgets...in 3D! So what do you guys think? Awesome cool? Lame?

I'm Hopeful

Looking back at the looney tune cartoons not all of them were winners, I'm not expecting a classic but i've faith. It's been too long, I would love to see 2-3 per year.

Hmm...

How do I know this is going to blow? Oh, right. Because compared to the original cartoons, most of these remakes tends to do that. All you have to do is to check the track record.

I'd have to see it in motion because it looks like they have certain bits of it nailed but yeah as Red4 says the textures are pretty bad.

At least it feels like an update that stays true to the original format. I hope it suceeds and we start to see more efforts like this coming out of Warner Brothers. The shorts are looking better than the films they're in front of though...

Awesome cool that the Looney Tunes are back.
Lame that they are in front of movies that I will never see.

They can't re-capture the gold that was Termite Terrace. Anything else is a pale imitation.

Cool that they're showing these. Sad becasue I have zero interest in watching the movies they're attached to.

Awesome!

Bring back the animated shorts AND the serials!

Also double-features. C'mon people, it's a recession. More bang for our buck, please.

Love the RR and Coyote! Too bad they aren't before better movies. I wish they would put them before all their movies. Beats the commercials and trailers any day.

Awesome but sad

It's awesome that they are bringing back the animated shorts and classic WB characters, but sad that the shorts will probably be the only thing worth watching in each of those cases.
