New Robin Hood trailer shows more of the legend

A few impressions that the new trailer for Ridley Scott's ROBIN HOOD left on me: Maid Marian is a bit of a badass, Max Von Sydow should be in every movie, Mark Strong is swiftly becoming this generation's best villain actor, and the Merry Men apparently don't have much to do.

It also looks rather epic, like a cross between Scott's own GLADIATOR and KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (the Director's Cut, please). This is clearly not a playful take on the folklore outlaw -- Russell Crowe is pretty goddamn serious about robbing the rich and giving it to the poor.

i still dont understand all the hate towards this movie. its a fresh take on a familiar legend with one of the best, most talented (especially when it comes to period epics) directors behind the wheel with a brilliant cast. who wants to see the same old robin hood movie again? not me. you all are crazy.

What's with all the negative comments?? This looks like a great action movie! An action movie with good camera work and (hopefully) without all the MTV-style editing which crept into the last Bond movie.

Looks like another BRAVEHEART to be honest... with the visual style not quite like that movie, but like all of Scott's OTHER old-thyme themed movies.

Looks like GLADIATOR 2 or some shit to me. These types of things have worn out their welcome for me. Even Crowe looks like he did in that first film. I MIGHT check it out on DVD if I hear it's good.

Looks good BUT!
PG-13 WTF??!!! Now I do realize that the old Kevin Costner one was pg-13, but that was back when pg 13 could have balls! This is shit man! They need to make it 'R'. Other than the rating the movie looks like it could be a badass rated R take on Robin Hood!

Clearly someone managed to watch the very good TV series Ivanhoe. Going back to the roots of Robin Hood sounds great.

Wow, I don't know where that came from but I loved it, much better than the first trailer. Nobody does epic like Scott, and for some reason I always likke Crowe best when he's doing a period piece. This is quickly becoming on of my most anticipated films of the year.
