New RoboCop banner and Superman's poster for The Lego Movie

Jan. 6, 2014by: Jesse Giroux

A new banner for Jose Padilha's ROBOCOP has been released, as well as a new poster for THE LEGO MOVIE featuring Superman. The new ROBOCOP banner isn't great, but it isn't terrible either. The banner features the titular cyborg law enforcer looking like he's ready to unleash some PG-13 violence with a machine gun while riding his motorcycle.

Looking for me?

Synopsis:

In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilises their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

THE LEGO MOVIE looks much better than I thought it would, and I'm actually kind of excited to see it. I think it's going to be a very fun animated film along the same lines as WRECK-IT RALPH, and there are a ton of awesome people voicing characters in THE LEGO MOVIE, including Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, and Liam Neeson. Superman will be voiced by Channing Tatum in the film, and you can check out the new poster for the character below.

I did what to General Zod in MAN OF STEEL?!

Synopsis:

An ordinary LEGO minifigure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil LEGO tyrant from gluing the universe together.

THE LEGO MOVIE will hit theaters on February 7th, 2014, and ROBOCOP will be released on February 12th, 2014.

At least the producers of RoboCop are making their intentions explicit

RoboPG13 just sounds lame and a waste of money. Just rerelease the first robocop.

That would be sweet if it was also for Man of Steel. On the other hand, I'm still not sure of Robocop, but the cast is loaded.

The LEGO movie looks incredible. From the humour to the style of the animation and the look of it to the prodigious voice cast that's been assembled, I'm pretty sure it's going to be a blast.

Much more excited for the Lego movie than I am for Robcop. Robcop just looks too sleek looking with no depth. I mean I would love to be proven wrong, but I feel like it's going to be another Total Recall remake debacle.

Yup. It will suck. Also Robocop was built in Detroit - so that's why the original was big and bold and silver - its the motor city - they are about big and bad not small and sleek.
