New Rocket Raccoon footage in latest trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy

Jun. 17, 2014by:

Marvel has released a great new international trailer for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and it has a more serious tone than the previous trailers. Don't worry, there is some humor (courtesy of Bradley Cooper's Rocket Raccoon), but for the most part, things are super cereal in the latest trailer for Marvel's upcoming film.

Besides the new Rocket Raccoon footage, the trailer also gives us a glimpse at Star-Lord's (Chris Pratt) origin, and there are some fresh looks at a few of the villains appearing in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. It's a pretty sweet trailer, and Groot agrees, right Groot?

"I am Groot!"

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY will be in theaters August 1, 2014.

Leave Rocket Raccoon's explosive toys alone! Diesel sounds as good as Groot as he did with Iron Giant. Gamora is a foxy green lady, Pratt could be the new Han Solo and Ronan looks deadly. Watch out, Star Wars.

The first two trailers were much better in my opinion, they made me giddy showing that it's possible to make a superhero movie that is not so fucking heavy-handed and emo all the time. I really hope the humour (and the fresh sounding OST) prevails throughout.

This is the last thing I am going to watch before the movie, this was extremely different than the first full length trailer. Everything looks incredible so far, the mood, the actors, the visuals, and all the previews have had great music, hope the movie is the same... I can not wait! This could end up being the best movie of the summer and a big surprise box office hit! (something like the 1st POTC)

I'm still trying to grasp all of this.

The Incredible Hulk is shafted from the "from the studio that brought you" credits at the beginning, and it also says "Avengers Assemble"? They cast Vin Diesel to say "I'm Groot" and it doesn't even sound like him. All these stars desperate to be in a Marvel movie are cast in a movie that's based on a largely unknown comic book that is the most likely of any Marvel movie so far/ planned to fail/ not extend past one movie... And yet it still looks really impressive.

Well to help you out with one of those... This is the international trailer...aka the trailer the UK gets and they got The Avengers as Avengers Assemble to confuse it with their TV series/pathetic movie remake The Avengers.

Yup, same reason Neighbors was released as Bad Neighbours in the UK (and here in Holland for some reason), so as not to confuse it with the Aussie soap that was a hit there.

Man I want this to be good!

I'm still not 100% sure they are going to get the tone right to have it be a big hit, but it looks like so much fun!

Those last two bits with Rocket Raccoon were hilarious (fake laugh, and the bomb). Easily my most anticipated film left of the summer and really looks like one of Marvel Univese's better films as of late.

I kind of don't like how the previews and trailers for this don't metion Incredible Hulk as "one of the films that Marvel has brought you". It was a GOOD film. Don't understand why Marvel is making it go unnoticed.

Some shoddy dialogue, but it looks fun.

Why does every movie with more than one protagonist have to give that "we may not like each other but we are stuck together in this" line...

Other than that, Vin Diesel is going to steal the show as Groot.

I like the dynamic the team has, it does kinda feel like "Hellboy in space".

Great trailer and all but once again, "The Incredible Hulk" gets shafted from the "from the studio that brought you..." credit lol.

It's strange. The more I see, the more excited I get but on the flip side, the more I see the more my worldwide box-office prediction goes down; 350-400 million ww?

That is my thought exactly. On the bright side, they put it in August, so positive word of mouth will mean more when it doesn't have to worry about another "epic" sci-fi blockbuster coming out the following week. But I wonder how many people are going to look at the chubby guy from Parks & Rec along with a one-line tree and a furry 2' tall Rambo and immediately decide to pass.......

In Chris Pratt's defense, het got ripped for this, google it, he got like Hugh Jackman size for this. Pretty impressive actually. He also played a professional football player in Moneyball and a soldier in Zero Dark Thirty, the dude obviously knows hot to take off and put weight on.

I'm not demeaning Pratt, just saying that the general public might not be ready to take him seriously as a leading man yet. If this goes well, by the time Jurassic Park comes out, he'll be taken more seriously by the casual movie-goers.

I wonder if Groot is screaming in agony because Rocket Raccoon squeezes his head too tight. Great poster though.
