New set photos from Darren Aronofsky's Noah featuring Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone and Anthony Hopkins

Aug. 20, 2013by:

Noah

All of Darren Aronofsky's films are visually gorgeous in my opinion (even PI in a dirty, gritty sort of way), and NOAH looks like it will be another excellent movie from the director. Some behind-the-scenes photos for the film have been released on the Russian website Filmz, and there are new images of stars Jennifer Connelly, Anthony Hopkins and Ray Winstone. NOAH was filmed in Iceland and with Aronofsky behind the camera (and a budget close to $130 million) the movie should be a feast for the eyes. Looks aren't everything, but I'm confident that NOAH will be much more than just pretty visuals.

NOAH also stars Russell Crowe, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman and Kevin Durand, and it will hit theaters on March 28th, 2014.

Extra Tidbit: Clint Mansell (who has composed the music to every Darren Aronofsky film) will be back for NOAH. What's your favorite Clint Mansell score?

Is it just me or has Russel Crowe become the least fun actor ever?

The Fountain is his best work

Really glad he's working with Aronofsky again. The fountain is my favorite with Moon second along with Requiem and Last Night (which was kind of a sleeper hit for me, great piano stuff).

Clint Mansell's Requiem for a Dream score is definitely his best. It is so beautiful.

Extra Tidbit

The Fountain is easily my favorite. It's one of the many scores of his that adds something to every scene.

Pi and The Fountain are probably at opposite ends of the spectrum with regard to beauty in Aronofsky's filmography. They are also my two favorite Aronofsky films.

Clint Mansell has had a number of memorable scores. The Fountain is certainly one of them, but so is Moon, Requiem for a Dream, Smokin' Aces, I can't really choose.

If anyone can make the bible actually believable, it would be Mr. Aronofsky.

Anything Darren makes, I'll see. The man is a genius. From his thought provoking Pi to his psychological thriller the Black Swan, Darren is a man who knows how to make his characters neurotic individuals. Requiem for a Dream is still my favorite, but the much underrated The Fountain comes very close.

I'm looking forward to this, to seeing how Aronofsky interprets a Biblical epic.

Clint Mansell is one of my fav composers and so glad to hear that he'll be back to with Darren to score this flick. My fav Mansell score is from Moon; such a beautiful score.

Requiem for a Dream

had a great score, as depressing as that movie was. The Fountain was a complete waste of time, but perhaps I just "didn't get it?"

The Fountain is outright Aronofsky's most beautiful film, and (to answer the Tidbit) Mansell's score for it is gorgeous and one of my favorites.
