New Star Trek clip

04.09.2009

While the early word on JJ Abrams' reboot of STAR TREK seems to be interstellar, for now the rest of us will have to settle for catching little pieces like the one below.

Here we see the new McCoy giving kid Kirk an earful about the perils of space travel. Seems like Karl Urban wears the crankypants of Bones quite well.

Also down there are some pics w/ links to recent promo dance parties featuring Orion slave girls, to satisfy your fetish for green chicks.

Extra Tidbit: Note: those girls are not actually from the Orion Syndicate. I think some of them may be from Burbank.

Hopefully that was an outtake for a blooper reel, because that was some of the worst line delivery ever.

Nice!

Yup, Original Star Trek came out 1966-1969, and Star Wars 1977. But I don't think that they should be compared. They are quite different, me think. Star Wars is more of a fantasy, and Trek is based more in realism, something that MIGHT happen in the future.

And this is why I like Star Trek better. But still, I love Star Wars as well!

Oh, and the scene? Great. I really like Urban as Bones. When I first heard about casting, I wasn't sure, but now... I'm sure.

WOW!

I know nothing about Star Trek. I loved Star Wars since I was 8 and always thought Star Trek seemed like a cheap wanna be. But after those 40 seconds consider me a fan of "Kirk" and Bones" it looks excellent and finally I have a movie I can look forward to this summer. "Space is disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence." I loved that line!

LET'S THINK ABOUT THIS

The people who saw this film in that theatre instead of "Wrath Of Khan"; obviously die hard Trek fans. They and others who have seen this film would say that a Trek film showing Kirk and Spock farting on each other like Terence & Philip on South Park is the greatest Star Trek movie of all time. I'm waiting to hear some objective opinions by people who don't buy Star Trek dog poop bags and anything else thrown at them just because it's a Trek thing.

I'm down with it all

Karl Urban, wow what a great pick for Dee Kelley's old role as Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy-even resembles him somewhat-for sure the hair- This is gonna be good!

GREAT FILM

I was fortunate enough to win tickets to the premiere in Sydney. I turned up expecting to see a few stars and maybe get a few autographs, but then this guy came around and let us enter a competition to see the film in the Opera house. Luckily we won and got to see the movie!

Karl Urban was awesome as Bones! Really played it like DeForest Kelley :) the rest of the cast were also pretty good in their roles.

Overall I really enjoyed the movie. Been a Trek fan since I was a kid, so I was

SERIOUSLY

The chick in the first picture (far right) is fuck ugly. What the hell is wrong with her mouth?

This movie is going to bank some serious scratch. I say at LEAST 70m opening weekend. THANK YOU JJ ABRAMS for saving Star Trek despite Rick Berman's best efforts to drive it into the ground.

Perfect Casting!

Karl Urban is looking perfect as Bones. Great intro scene -- can't wait to see more of him.
