New Titans pics

Oct. 2, 2009by: Paul Tassi

Yesterday, you got a look at Empire's CLASH OF THE TITANS cover featuring Perseus himself, Sam Worthington. Well, today they've posted a few of their exclusive shots from inside the issue, also featuring Perseus, but alongside a few of the crazy-ass creatures he meets along the way.

My best description for this project right now would be LORD OF THE RINGS meets 300, and that ain’t a bad cocktail to mix in my opinion. The creature effects look awesome, as what I can only assume are Stygian Witches are suitably terrifying, but I have no idea who Perseus’ giant buddy is in the first shot.

Click on the pictures below to head over to Empire to see more shots, and remember to buy the issue when it hits this month.

Extra Tidbit: I'm getting excited, but I just don't trust Leterrier yet!

This is a huge MUST SEE! I wore out my VHS of Clash of the Titans when I was a kid.

Looks interesting so far.

One thing though. Leterrier made Transporter 2 only, not the first and the Crank films were made by the Neveldine/Taylor team

Hmm

I'm not sure who the big guy in the first pic is either, but he reminds me of Yojimbo from the Final Fantasy game series

Careful that mouth, Sam

...and that Harryhausen comment was disrespectul, not only to the man, but to more than a generation of fans from the original film

Is it just my opinion or...

Sam Worthington should have done workout to feature such a fierce warrior as Perseus. Harry Hamlin wasnt buff either, but looked kinda fearsome with an acceptable athletic shape back at the 80's when the original was released. Worthington keeps looking too "average guy" to me as Perseus.

Cooool but...

I'm with you Paul...looks amazing but I don't trust Leterreir either. The Transporter was cool but beyond that I havn't made it through a single one of his films. I walked out on the supremely shitty Crank and Trans. 2 and if this weren't Clash of the Titans an all time favourite of mine + Sam Worthington I wouldn't even bother wasting my time or money. He better not fuck this up. I'm frankly a little surprised he even got this gig in the first place.

Why?

Why not trust Letterier? Transporters were over the top, yes, but that was the point. I don't understand how Crank can jizzed on by everyone but we can safely ignore those films that preceded Statham's prominence.

Also, Incredible Hulk is supremely underrated. This looks pretty awesome.

300 meets Lord of the Rings? Huh? More like 300 meets Pan's Labrynth and that's not a bad thing.

"we're not in fuckin' Harryhausen mode anymore". I wonder if this is the form of address Worthington uses for all elderly gentlemen.

My train of thought just now...

Yeah, yeah, Clash of the Titans, OK, another remake, fine, loved the original, saw it again, could actually use an update, Medusa, interesting, wait a sec- Calibos- hmmm, can't wait to see the redesign!...what else? Oh my God, Kraken- my nerd boner just punched a hole in the wall.
