New trailer for Snowpiercer with Chris Evans teases bloody train battles
I'm very glad to hear that so far early reviews for Bong Joon-ho's SNOWPIERCER have been stellar. The film opens in South Korea next week and here's a final trailer for the post-apocalyptic movie. Well, final until the marketing push for the movie starts domestically anyway. The new trailer puts Chris Evans' character front and center, and we get a better look at the close-quarters combat on the train that I'm sure will be the highlight of the film. That and Tilda Swinton being a crazy bitch, of course.
The film is set in a future where a runaway experiment to stop global warming has caused an ice age that killed nearly all life on the planet. The only survivors are the inhabitants of the 'Snowpiercer', a massive train that travels around the planet and is powered by a perpetual-motion engine. Over time a class system evolves on the train, with the elites inhabiting the front of the train and poor inhabiting the back of the train. Tired of their poor living conditions, the riders in the revolt, attempting to seize control of the engine, which the elites in the front consider sacred.
If you like what you see you can also check out the animated prequel for SNOWPIERCER right here. Also starring Ed Harris, Octavia Spencer and the fantastic South Korean actor Song Kang-ho, there's still no word on we can expect to see SNOWPIERCER in theaters stateside, but with how well critics are responding to the film I bet The Weinstein Company can't wait to put this on the big screen.
|Extra Tidbit:||SNOWPIERCER is based off of the French Graphic novel Le Transperceneige.|
