New trailer for The Leftovers shows miracles aren’t always what they seem

Miracles aren't always what they seem… at least not the way the new trailer for Season Two of HBO's THE LEFTOVERS lays it out for us.

Following the events of the first season, Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux) and his daughter have left the past behind, looking for a future with Nora Durst (Carrie Coon) and maybe some answers as they journey to the town of Jarden, TX. It is in this place where absolutely zero people departed during the mysterious event at the heart of the show that whisked nearly 2% of the Earth's population away, vanishing into thin air without explanation.

But everything isn't all sunshine and rainbows, as it is looks like someunderlying darkness lurks in this new place which doesn't appear to live up to all the hype.

Season Two of THE LEFTOVERS premieres on HBO on Sunday, October 4.
