New trailer tease for Valerian will get you ready for Alpha

03.18.2017

One of the riskiest – and surely most expensive looking – movies of the year is VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS. The massive directorial effort from Luc Besson (LUCY, THE FIFTH ELEMENT) with Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne will take viewers to a universe never seen in the movieverse before, and it will be magical and spectacular! Though we got the first trailer some time ago, it’s now time for the brand-spanking new trai – *cough cough*– sorry about that…trailer tease. The big kahuna will debut on March 29.

We can thank Besson himself for the tease, who released it on as a treat to fans on his own birthday (don’t act like you remembered and got him something too). The first trailer was suitably fun, promising at least some awesome sci-fi set pieces and action. This movie has a lot to accomplish in the way of luring in audiences who may opt out to see Christopher Nolan’s DUNKIRK on the same day. I wish you all the luck in the world, Besson.

Be sure to stay tuned on March 29 for the new trailer and remember to see VALERIAN on July 21.

Damn this is a pretty looking movie. However it comes to something when the CGI has more personality than the cast.

Hoping reviews are good

I absolutely love The Fifth Element. I absolutely loathed Lucy. The two leads in this seem pretty shitty compared to Bruce and Milla and Scarlett, so Besson has his work cut out for him. Then again I actually enjoyed John Carter and its retro vibe, (but wow Jupiter Ascending was wretched. In any case, this will probably be bad, I'll get really stoned and watch it once it's out on home release.

I think Dane DeHaan is a decent actor who can do better. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was an awful misstep, but this doesn't look much better. Having seen Cara Delevingne's pathetic performance in Suicide Squad last year, I can safely say she needs either a) an acting coach, or b) to get the fuck outta Hollywood and stay out. The only thing I will praise about this trailer are a few of the visuals. They're pretty. The song is good, too.

Too bad they couldn't have got two leads that weren't so fucking annoying.

Because

*snort* Dude. It's... the Beatles. The "terrible" song is called Because, released in 1969. At least know the terribly awful and irritating source of the song... John Lennon.

Just because it is John Lennon it doesn't mean it is good.Following your thinking everything John Lennon did was amazing...for example marrying Yoko Ono.

Also not every good song is a good fit for a trailer. Calling it irritating is a fitting description for me
