Variety is reporting that Sony's THE DARK TOWER has found its Jake Chambers in the form of newcomer Tom Taylor, a British actor best known for playing Tom Foster on the BBC One drama Doctor Foster.

Taylor, who has also appeared on episodes of TNT's Legends and BBC Two's The Last Kingdom, won the role after a worldwide search to find the right actor for the part. He joins the previously cast Idris Elba (Roland “The Gunslinger” Deschain) and Matthew McConaughey (The Man in Black).

Jake Chambers plays a key role in the Stephen King fantasy-western book series as a member of Roland's ka-tet, a group of beings who are brought together by destiny or fate. A ROYAL AFFAIR's Nikolaj Arcel will direct the adaptation from a script by Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner, and filming is set to begin sometime this spring.

THE DARK TOWER is scheduled to be released on February 17, 2017.
