News about a future Tarantino project set in Australia and whether he cameos in Django Unchained

I was wondering when this news would come out. Tarantino, who has notable cameos in PULP FICTION, RESERVOIR DOGS, and DEATH PROOF, will be appearing in DJANGO UNCHAINED as well. But, it seems to have been a last minute decision.

IndieWire reports that Rex Linn, who plays Tennessee Harry in DJANGO UNCHAINED, revealed the news of QT's role: “Quentin told me that he liked the scene so much he wanted to be in it, too, and that he would also be taking some of my lines,” Linn revealed. “So, you'll know the scenes when you see them. We'll be on the screen with Don Johnson and Jonah Hill. The scenes may not be long, but you will remember them.”

This would likely mean Tarantino cast himself as one of The Regulators, “a group of people who kept slaves in line, found them if they escaped, and terrorized them.” We previously reported from Comic Con that the scene features a Regulator raid against Foxx and Waltz’s bounty hunters. “It starts off like it’s going to be very scary,” explained Tarantino, “And then they have this sequence that’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever written. Right up there with handing out the color names in RESERVOIR DOGS.”

That sounds fantastic. Tarantino may not be the best actor in the world, but he certainly knows which plum parts to take for himself. I look forward to seeing this ragtag team on the big screen.

IndieWire also reported that Tarantino and DJANGO UNCHAINED actor John Jarratt have tossed around the idea of filming a movie in Australia. While this could just be one of many possible projects for Tarantino, it wouldn't shock me. Australia has been known for their genre film-making and exploitation films which have grown in popularity in recent years thanks to the internet.

DJANGO UNCHAINED opens on Christmas Day.

Extra Tidbit: Denzel Washington also told GQ he has buried his hatchet with Tarantino. They are on good terms now, which explains why Denzel's daughter, Katia Washington, will appear in DJANGO UNCHAINED.

Crikey.

John Jarratt came onto QTs radar after Wolf Creek. Apparently QT was going to cast him in Death Proof before they ended up with Kurt Russell. Australia is just another location to shoot. Whatever QT shoots and wherever he shoots it, it will be a Tarantino movie. If he does come down here for his next film he will be welcomed.

Just so you know, I typed in "Denzel Washington and Quentin Tarantino into google for this answer.

"According to a 1995 Premiere magazine article, Denzel confronted director Quentin Tarantino when he visited the set of Crimson Tide (1995). Quentin had done an uncredited rewrite of the script. Denzel lambasted Tarantino about his use of racial slurs in his films. Tarantino got embarrassed and wanted to move the conversation to a more private area. Denzel said, “No, if were going to discuss

2 Second google search. No offense but sheesh.
