Next up for Tony Scott? Potzdamer Platz with Bardem, Statham, and Rourke

Tony Scott has his next project to direct, POTZDAMER PLATZ. Javier Bardem, Jason Statham, and Mickey Rourke are currently circling the project. So, all three could possibly be involved? I'm game.

The film is about two soldiers in a New Jersey based crime family who try to expand internationally. If the film gets everything pulled together by Fall, they might have to change the name. Potzdamer Platz is apparently a train station in the center of Germany, but the setting of the movie will be in Puerto Rico.

Scott tried to bring Gene Hackman into the mix, but he wasn't up for it. Too bad. Hackman, when will you act again?

The director has been working on this project since 2000. The script got a re-write from Buddy Giovinazzo on an original draft from David Scinto and Louis Mellis (SEXY BEAST). Relativity and Lionsgate are interested in the project, but 20th Century Fox gets first dibs since Scott's production company, Scott Free is based there.

POTZDAMER PLATZ has been a project close to Scott's heart. It's been held up several times and it looks like he finally gets to do it.

Extra Tidbit: I had no clue Hackman was writing books now. Anyone read any of his stuff?
