Ninja Turtles to invade Vancouver and begin shooting some time in late summer or early fall

All has been quiet on the NINJA TURTLES front ever since Michael Bay announced the new creative direction being taken by our beloved turtles, but it looks like things may be heating up again as “word in casting and pre-production circles around town is that the big-screen reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is heading to Vancouver for a late summer or early fall filming start.”

This makes sense cnsidering that NINJA TURTLES already has a release date of December 25th, 2013, as it would afford director Jonathan Liebesman just enough time to shoot the mo-cap heavy movie.  Written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec (MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCAL), the plot is currently being described on IMDb as follows: “aliens invade Earth and inadvertently spawn a quartet of mutated reptile warriors, the Ninja Turtles, who rise up against them to defend the world.”

Hopefully this means that the casting news will come rolling in soon – I’m very intrigued as to what track Liebesman and Bay will take.
