No more Viggo?

Yesterday the news was that THE ROAD was being pushed back to Thanksgiving, and now Viggo Mortensen might be done with movies for awhile.

Mortensen told Men's Journal, "I have no plans to do another movie. I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m open to seeing how I feel in a while, but right now I’m not saying yes to anything.” Is this a joke? He has to come back, right? In the magazine, he talks about how draining and unhealthy it can be do promoting as well as acting. As far as Mortensen is concerned, he's done with it all for the short term. He also recognizes that sometimes when actors take "breaks" they don't always get to come back. I'm sure there's always a place for Viggo though, I mean, who would turn this guy down?

In April, Mortensen spoke with The Times about the same issue, "No more movies. I haven’t said yes to one in over a year. I’ve been in all these well-received movies and it seems like I should be doing some more, but there’s other things I want to do. It’s not the right time.” They asked him if he knew when he might graces us with his presence, to which he took a long pause, sighed, then said, “I really don’t know.”

But will the actor reprise his role as Aragorn? I don't see why he wouldn't, even though Aragorn is pretty young between THE HOBBIT and LORD OF THE RINGS: FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING. So will THE ROAD be a good film to leave on? Also what will he do in the meantime? Write another book poetry? Hopefully he won't stay gone for too long.

Extra Tidbit: Mortensen received the scar on his upper lip after scratching his face on a barbed wire fence at a Halloween party.
