No one is lost without a trace in trailer for John Cho’s Searching

Where is Margot? That's the question at the heart of Aneesh Chaganty's upcoming SEARCHING, a thriller which tells the story of David Kim's (John Cho) missing 16-year-old daughter from the point-of-view of smartphones and computer screens. Ordinarily I'm not a huge fan of these types of POV movies, but critics have singing the praises of SEARCHING since its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year; in fact, SEARCHING is sitting at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes right now, if you care about that sort of thing. Also starring Debra Messing and Michelle La, a fresh trailer for the upcoming flick has landed, which you can check out above!

The official synopsis for SEARCHING:

After David Kim’s 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened and a detective is assigned to the case. But 37 hours later and without a single lead, David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter’s laptop. In a hyper-modern thriller told via the technology devices we use every day to communicate, David must trace his daughter’s digital footprints before she disappears forever.

SEARCHING will hit theaters on August 3, 2018.
