Officials have officially announced that RUSH HOUR 3 will not be shown in China. Apparently the reason is that there has been an ‘overabundance’ of imported films this year. Xiao Ping, a director of international relations at the China Film Import and Export Co had the following to say:
“We’ve talked to the Film Bureau, and there’s a feeling that while this is a good film, there already are enough imported films coming,”
As I’m sure you know, RUSH HOUR 3 features Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker in France. And on top of singing a really terrible rendition of Lady Marmalade and getting a new ass hole torn by the biggest Asian guy I’ve ever seen, the crux of the story is that they’re up against a Chinese gang. Does this have anything to do with China’s decision? Xiao said, “I’m not too clear about that.” Guess we’ll have to take his word for it.
