Norton & Spike Lee
The unlikely duo of Edward Norton and Spike Lee will team-up on the
feature film version of THE 25TH HOUR, a novel by David Benioff. The project is
described as being "low-budget" and it's unclear whether this film will follow
in the vein of Lee's BAMBOOZLED, which was shot entirely using digital cameras. The
book's author also wrote the screenplay which follows a convicted drug dealer on his last
night before lockup. He tried to piece together the events that led to his
conviction and reaches a startling conclusion. Disney will back the film which will
begin filming this May in New York. Sounds intriguing enough, but I've been
disappointed with Spike's work lately. Hopefully Norton will whip him into shape...
