Nottingham delayed

07.28.2008

NOTTINGHAM, the revisionist take on the Robin Hood legend, that Ridley Scott was going to direct with Russell Crowe, has been indefinitely postponed. A new production start date probably won't be set until next year. Apparently, a combination of script concerns, location logistics and the current labor unrest all played a role in the decision.

Thankfully this means Scott has more time to work on his MONOPOLY movie. I can't wait to see that thing. I love when I splash out on a batch of houses and then have no money, but then I hit upon Free Parking and take all the money outta the middle. Yeah! To see that committed to film will just blow my mind.
Extra Tidbit: You CAN collect rent while you're in jail. Get over it!

That does bloody suck!!

I would have loved to see this movie. Especially Christian Bale as Robin Hood. That would have rocked!

Well, I can't say I've been too enthused about the idea of completely reversing the ENTIRE POINT of the Robin Hood legend by antagonizing the hero and vice versa (despite the fact that I love stories of sympathetic villains), so color me...neutral.

pht, whatever.

I haven't seen a truly great Robin Hood since Michael 'Robin of Sherwood' Praed...in the early '80s! So, personally, I'd rather they'd film a more traditional take on the character than a revisionist one.

Seriously, don't even get me started on Kevin Costner (they might as well cast Brad Pitt as Sherlock Holmes), or that annoying hobbit in that current goofy-@$$ TV series...
