NYCC 2016: Milla Jovovich & Ali Larter talk Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

10.09.2016

Every franchise comes to an end... eventually. That's the cast with RESIDENT EVIL, which is calling it a day after six films - at least, that's what they're leading us to believe. While a reboot is almost sure to happen in the future, there seems to be no doubt that this is the end of the line for the series' biggest star, Milla Jovovich, and her director-producer husband, Paul W.S. Anderson. The two have shepherded the films since the first RESIDENT EVIL came out in 2002. Now, almost 15 years later, RESIDENT EVIL: THE FINAL CHAPTER is ready to close the book on Alice, the Umbrella Corporation and the various zombies, demons and creatures the films have flung in our direction for over a decade.

At this year's New York Comic-Con, I had the opportunity to speak to Milla about her feelings toward ending it all, whether or not she'll miss the Alice character and how she'd react if (when?) the RESIDENT EVIL brand gets a new film down the line.

The other main character in the RESIDENT EVIL films is Claire Redfield, gamely played in three films by Ali Larter. Ali was in attendance at NYCC as well, and we spoke about hanging up Claire's iconic jacket (and whether or not Ali gets to keep it), the tough shoot that was THE FINAL CHAPTER and whether or not she'd be up for a Redfield spinoff movie!
