The official synopsis for SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY has finally been revealed, with the film promising to delve deep into the histories and friendships of some of the saga's most beloved characters. You can read all about it for yourself below:

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

The Ron Howard-directed Star Wars spinoff will star Alden Ehrenreich as the interstellar, wise-cracking smuggler, Han Solo, while Joonas Suotamo will suit up as Chewbacca with Donald Glover looking to play Lando Calrissian in the highly-anticipated film. Also set to appear for the suave con man's origin adventure are Emilia Clark as Q'Ra and Wooody Harrelson as Tobias Beckett. Warwich Davis, Paul Bettany, Clint Howard, and Thandie Newton will also join the cast.

Ahh, it sure feels good to get the official word on what this film is set to be, doesn't it? Yoda knows that this movie has seen its fair share of ups and downs, over the past several months, and I'm sure that I'm not alone in feeling content that it's all finally coming together.

With any luck, we'll be hearing word of a trailer release real soon. Until then, we'll just have to wait until STAR WARS: A SOLO STORY arrives in theaters on May 25th.
