UPDATE: The open casting call for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is now accepting auditions online. If you don't live near one of the cities holding auditions, you can click here and follow the instructions on the top right of the page to submit your video audition.

Disney is holding open casting calls for an upcoming feature that many are assuming is STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. Based on the timing and the role descriptions, there aren't many other films from the studio that this could be for. This would also be a very cool chance for some lucky amateur to become a part of one of the most iconic franchises in movie history.

The casting call will have locations set up in St. Louis, Chicago, Austin, and Troy, Michigan over the coming month, so if you fit the criteria for one of these parts, I suggest you give it your best shot to join J.J. Abrams chapter of the Skywalker legacy.

Here are the descriptions for the two roles being cast:

Seeking: Young woman to play 17-18 Years old. Must be beautiful, smart and athletic. Open to all ethnicities (including bi- and multi-racial).

Rachel: Was quite young when she lost her parents. With no other family, she was forced to maker her way alone in a tough, dangerous town. Now 17 she has become street smart and strong. She is able to take care of herself using humor and guts to get by.

Always a survivor, never a victim, she remains hopeful that she can move away from this harsh existence to a better life. She is always thinking of what she can do to move ahead.

Seeking: Young man to play 19-23 years old. Must be handsome, smart and athletic. Must be over 18.

Thomas:Has grown up without a father's influence. Without the model of being a man, he doesn't have the strongest sense of himself. Despite this, he is smart, capable and shows courage when it is needed. He can appreciate the absurdities in life and understands you can't take life too seriously.

Casting director Maryellen Aviano will be on site. Aviano has been the casting director for OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL, DJANGO UNCHAINED, INCEPTION, and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER. These parts sound very interesting on paper and while the character names are obviously fake, this does give us some clue as to the youth focus for the characters in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. Could either of these by a Skywalker offspring? That remains to be seen.

Check out the casting call locations below. STAR WARS: EPISODE VII opens on December 18, 2015.

Tell me they haven't finished the casting call for overweight, middle-aged, white guy. Daniel Day Lewis? Dudes Jar Jar Binks compared the the method acting I've put into this role.

IF this is for Star Wars, which I'm skeptical, I don't think these characters are for any children of Skywalker's. The girl is someone who grew up on the streets - I doubt Lucas would write in his story plans that Han, Leia, or Luke once abandoned their child. The other, Thomas, says he grew up without a father figure - if it's Han or Leia's kid wouldn't he have had Han? And again, I doubt Lucas would write Luke as abandoning his child or knocking up a random girl and never knowing about it

These open casting calls are almost always a stunt

90% of the time they find their actors through talking with reputable agents, so this is more of a way to promote the movie rather than actually finding a fresh new face. And often that "fresh new face" is the relative or lover of someone calling in a marker, or the child of someone prominent.

What if they're actually casting something like a Race to Witch Mountain sequel?

Or...

It could be a movie about teenagers named Rachel and Thomas. Nothing about this screams "Star Wars" to me.

There's also a casting call in Dublin Ireland on the 23rd & 24th, also for the roles of 'Rachel' and 'Thomas'.

I'll be in Ireland then and I know where the auditions are being held, I'll see if I can get some photos.

hm.

This isn't star wars. They wouldn't use the names Rachel or thomas for star wars characters. unless its just to throw us off.

Yeah, just their names should be more exotic like Luke, Ben, or Owen.

I find it strange that they had to specify that "Open to all ethnicities" also meant bi/multi-racial people.
