GHOST IN THE SHELL follows a cyborg policewoman (Scarlett Johansson) as she attempts to bring down a nefarious computer hacker. There's been a lot of controversy surrounding Johansson's casting, as well as whether or not "Hollywood" will get this one right, so if you're a fan of the original film, the following might interest you. GHOST IN THE SHELL (1995) director Mamoru Oshii speaks a bit about this live-action adaptation and seems to like what he's seeing so far! Take a look!

Despite what most people think, I think Rupert Sanders delivered a gorgeous-looking film in SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN. Then again, I suppose most people's qualm with that film fell on its lead actress. Johansson is a major step up in that department and if the source material is as great as it is revered, GHOST IN THE SHELL should prove to be Sands' first solid film! At least it'll look pretty!

GHOST IN THE SHELL hits theaters on March 31, 2017.

I think visually this movie will look awesome. As for the entire movie? Not exactly sure on that just yet.

I'm actually s big fan of the manga but not the anime film (which I feel really watered down the ideas of the book and destroyed any real character development in favor of cool visuals and action) so I'm actually really looking forward to this, aside from casting a couple of white actors to help sell tickets it really looks like they're making an effort to be faithful to the source material.

Huge fan of GITS, and naturally a huge critic of a film adaptation, but - the stuff I'm seeing looks pretty badass. Looks dark and moody, I just hope they drive home the philosophical.
