GHOST IN THE SHELL follows a cyborg policewoman (Scarlett Johansson) as she attempts to bring down a nefarious computer hacker. There’s been a lot of controversy surrounding Johansson’s casting, as well as whether or not “Hollywood” will get this one right, so if you’re a fan of the original film, the following might interest you. GHOST IN THE SHELL (1995) director Mamoru Oshii speaks a bit about this live-action adaptation and seems to like what he’s seeing so far! Take a look!

Despite what most people think, I think Rupert Sanders delivered a gorgeous-looking film in SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN. Then again, I suppose most people’s qualm with that film fell on its lead actress. Johansson is a major step up in that department and if the source material is as great as it is revered, GHOST IN THE SHELL should prove to be Sands’ first solid film! At least it’ll look pretty!

GHOST IN THE SHELL hits theaters on March 31, 2017.
