Our first sneak peek at Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has arrived!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story sneak peek

With all the excitement surrounding the recent Blu-ray/DVD release of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, I almost forgot that we had another STAR WARS film to look forward to this year; almost. The upcoming ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY will be the first of the STAR WARS spin-off films and will tell the story of the courageous group of Rebels who united to steal the plans for the first Death Star. We haven't seen all that much from the Gareth Edwards film as of yet, but that's about to change as a trailer announcement for ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY has offered up the first real footage.

Check it out!

Normally I don't have much patience when it comes to teasers for teasers, but seeing as how this is STAR WARS we're talking about and the trailer it's teasing will arrive in under 24 hours, I suppose I can let this one slide. As confirmed in the video you just watched, the first trailer for the film will premiere tomorrow during Good Morning America. As always, we'll get that trailer up for you just as soon as we can. ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY stars Felicity Jones, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Diego Luna, Alan Tudyk, and Riz Ahmed.

ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY will hit theaters on December 16, 2016.

looks good to me. Of course it's only a 10 second clip. So black Storm Trooper suits, are they an elite group of Storm Troopers?

seriously? how can you even begin to judge this teaser? It's literally 10 seconds long? Unless it was 10 seconds of kittens playing with a ball of yarn how can you judge it?

Batman Vs. Superman was Citizen Kane compared to Episode VII. Considering this is also under the Disney banner, I don't see why we should expect anything more.

Really wish they would drop the "A Star Wars story" subtitle. Makes it sound like a kids book. Honestly, if people can't tell from the trailers, tv spots, posters, toys, etc. that this is related to Star Wars, well that's their problem.

I'd be totally fine with:

Star Wars, then instead of Episode blahblah, just Rogue One

After the dreadfully boring Episode VII, I really just can't get excited for any new Star Wars films.

Yes I couldn't agree more with the the rest of the world. Success doesn't mean success. Would anyone consider twilight a game changer or world altering? No.

I really do think we live in a time where we get so much that we are spoiled. Seems like we watched two completely different films.

OK well 7 was a remake of 4. this is NOT up for debate. some fans accepted it, some didnt. i didnt.
I didnt wait around for 30 years to see the same plot line played out with new characters.

in any case, the prequels didnt kill my love for star wars and neither did ep7. so bring on more movies - im sure we have to get something original AND good at some point!

@MovieManiac Maybe. I guess if a person had never seen Episode IV before, I can see where VII might be entertaining. For me, was like watching a magician pull rabbits out of his hat, when I already know how the trick is done. And the whole Mary Sue/Hunger Games character shoehorned into Star Wars was just too silly for me to take seriously.

It's possible that Episode VIII could redeem the franchise. But I won't find out until it's available on Netflix. Maybe.

This movie looks amazing!

Better than I could have dreamed! I've watched that teaser 10 times already, and each time I'm more impressed with the acting, the script, the special effects, the action, the romance, the humour... This is clearly the best Star Wars movie ever. If not the best movie ever, period! Heck, I don't even need to see the whole movie now. That teaser was enough! Any more might melt my brain - Like a lightsaber through butter!
