Paramount and Hasbro to create shared universe with G.I. Joe & other brands
The last time we heard about G.I. JOE 3, Paramount had moved on to writer Aaron Berg after giving Evan Daugherty and Jonathan Lemkin a shot. That was pretty much it, and while there were rumors about a possible TRANSFORMERS/JOE crossover, it looks like they have other plans. Hollywood Reporter is stating that Paramount and Hasbro's film label, Allspark Pictures, are aiming to create a shared universe between G.I. Joe, Micronauts, Visionairies, M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) and ROM.
Much like they've done recently with TRANSFORMERS, a writer's room is expected to be assembled in which to make sense of all this toy-turned-movie madness. There's been no talk about an expected release date for G.I. JOE 3, or who might return from the previous films, but I think we can expect the Joes to have some company on their next mission. Meanwhile, I'll be over here, waiting for my Dino-Riders movie...
