Paramount sets release dates for the next three Transformers films

02.12.2016

Up until now, the general wait for a new TRANSFORMERS movie has been about 2-3 years. Given the insane amounts of money they bring in, this may come as no surprise, but Paramount Pictures is immediately stepping up their TRANSFORMERS game. They have issued a release date, not only for TRANSFORMERS 5, but for 6 and 7 as well.

Michael Bay and Mark Wahlberg will be back for TRANSFORMERS 5, which is set to hit theaters on June 23, 2017. Regardless of whether or not they stay on for future installments, it looks like we'll be getting TRANSFORMERS 6 on June 8, 2018, followed by TRANSFORMERS 7 on June 28, 2019. Those dates aren't set in stone by any means given that TRANSFORMERS 5 is currently going up against WONDER WOMAN, and the 6th installment is currently going head to head with GODZILLA 2.

Michael Bay is always saying that each TRANSFORMERS movie is "the last one he'll do," although I have no doubts that Paramount would be looking to sign him for the next trilogy of films. Regardless, I'm sure they're they're either looking to shoot multiple films at once, or sign a different director for each installment (a la STAR WARS). In any case, we're going to see A LOT more of Optimus and his gang in the coming years.

Remember when seeing a Transformer in a live-action movie was actually cool? Yeah, that lasted all of one movie...

Bay might have a huge gambling problem and every time he looses millions, he has to do another Transformers movie.

At what point do they just start making these movies in Chinese with Asian actors instead? It seems like the chinese market is the main one that makes these films profitable.

I bet there will be more over the top explosions, objectified women, making points about underage relationships, Racist profiling, and to top it off with nearly every scene needing to have a Flag in it. Oh... and not to mention who ever was only a SSgt or TSgt in the last film will now somehow be a Colonel.

Objectifying women is not a bad thing. It's why they're hot in the first place. Have you seen the type of clothes hot chicks have on when they're just walking in the streets, with no cameras? They're objects. And they love it.

People, For the love of God and all that is holy. Please stop seeing these movies. Because of you people that have to go see these movies and give it money Michael Bay and the studio will keep releasing more of these and they are only going to get worse.

And so it starts....

Every year there will be a new Marvel films (there's already too many of them), there will be a new Star Wars film whether it's a new Episode or spin-off (love Star Wars but this is way too much), and now there will be another crappy-ass Transformers film (fuck, no!!!!!).
This is just the beginning. The same damn movies, the same franchises, repeated every year over and over and over until they are finally ran into the ground.

The first one is the only film in the franchise that I enjoyed. The rest have been an abomination

Me too, I think probably because Bay was coming off of a bomb and Spielberg might have had a more active voice in producing. After it was a hit, and judging off how awful they became, Paramount let Bay do whatever he wanted since they were making bank.

Strongly agree with you here. If Sir.Stevie had anything to do with T1, it definitely showed.

wow...

So much for Bay retiring from the franchise. I don't know if Wahlberg will be back but you God damn know Bay is directing all three. I can't even imagine how awful and offensive number 7 is going to be.
